Peters Township’s Got Talent!
The Peters Township Music Boosters would like to Congratulate the following Peters Township High School band, orchestra and choir students whose musical talents, ambition and hard work has resulted in some amazing recognition within the music community.
Three Peters Township jazz band students successfully placed in the PMEA honors jazz band for our region. Congratulations to Ethan Cheek (tenor saxophone), Brian Weibel (trombone) and CJ Rhen (trumpet). Congratulations to CJ for receiving the highest score as a trumpet player.
In addition, Rebecca Schneirov (clarinet), Brian Weibel (trombone) and CJ Rhen (trumpet) competed at District Band on January 10, 2018 and successfully proceed to the Region Competition. Congratulations Rebecca,Brian and CJ!
And, PT Marching Band Members, Gordon Hardy, Tucker Ferris (8th grade), and Cole Woodward (8th grade), will be performing in Washington’s Got Talent as part of a band called the MyGrnz on January 28th. Gordon is lead vocals, Tucker plays guitar, and Cole plays drums. Orchestra student, Caleb Eynon (8th grade), who plays guitar, is also a member of the MyGrnz, and the group also includes Noah Smith (9th grade), who plays bass guitar, and Christian Birkelbach (7th grade), who plays keyboards and guitar.
Three Peters Township High School students will represent the District at District Orchestra in February at Gateway High School. Congratulations to Juliette Langley (violin), Malina Slizik (violin) and Kaylee Petro (cello). Each will also audition for a seat in Regional Orchestra while there. The Orchestra is also proud to announce that three students will represent Peters Township at PMEA Junior High District Orchestra (grades 7-9) at Mt. Lebanon. Anne Chang (viola), Victor Yu (violin) and Christopher MacKay (French horn) will perform with this full symphonic orchestra in March. Congratulations Juliette, Malina, Kaylee, Anne, Victor and Christopher.
The Peters Township High School Choir is also proud to announce that two of its students, Lindsay Turek (Soprano) and John Vanderhoff (Tenor) successfully place into PMEA District Choir this year and will represent our school district January 26, 2018. Congratulations Lindsay and John!
Finally, we would like to thank each of the directors, Mr. Barney, Mr. McGough and Mr. Perrotte for their leadership, guidance and dedication to these students, as well as all of the students whom they teach. We appreciate all that you do to expose our students to music.
